Chicano history series examines U.S. immigration laws

The impact of U.S. immigration laws on undocumented residents, and Mexican American history and culture were among discussions at the 2011 Historia Chicana Plática (Chicano History Talk) series held in April. UNT’s Mexican American studies program and several campus departments hosted events as part of the series, which included lectures from visiting faculty and legal experts.
UNT awards more degrees to Hispanics than any university in North Texas and recently was named a Top 100 Colleges for Hispanics by Hispanic Outlook magazine.
