There's a population of alligators living in DFW, and UNT researchers want to know what makes them special. The Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge is teaming up with biological sciences assistant professor Andrew Gregory and UNT's Wildlife Society student chapter to learn more about their gators. UNT researchers and student volunteer teams will document as many nests as possible and collect data such as daily temperature profiles, number of eggs, the incubation period and hatch rates -- helping students build real-world skills and gain experience to prepare for their careers.
