o you refuse to crumble in the face of competition? Always rise to the occasion? Boast the recipe for success? Then get ready to bask in the sweet, sweet reward of a job well baked in UNT’s first-ever Best of the Nest Cookie Fest.

This isn’t any cookie cutter contest — we have three categories tailor made for everyone from the beginning baker to the kitchen connoisseur.

Delicious and Decorative: Prove your cookie prowess in this category, which has two major requirements — the cookies must taste and look incredible.

Simply Delectable: These are for easy-to-make treats that are hard to pass up.

• UNTraditional: Show your Mean Green spirit by creating a cookie with a UNT spin, whether through the decoration, flavors or both. Let your creativity soar!

To enter, fill out the information on this form and submit by 11:59 p.m. Friday, March 11. The top three finalists in each category will be invited to bake a dozen of their signature cookies in our campus culinary lab for official judging on Tuesday, April 19. All finalists will receive a writeup in the North Texan, special UNT-branded prizes and — most importantly — bragging rights (hey, that’s more than you get on Great British Bake Off, right?) UNT students, staff, faculty and alumni are welcome to enter.

Happy baking!

By the way, if all this dessert talk has got you hungry, don't forget about all the amazing sweet treats offered by UNT Dining -- from ice cream to coffee cake to croissants (and everything in between), they've got you covered.
