Tamara Brown has been named the new dean of UNT's College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. Her appointment begins July 1.

In her new role, Brown will be responsible for the largest college on campus, which has 9,000 students and is made up of more than 22 academic departments and programs.

Prior to her UNT appointment, Brown spent seven years at Prairie View A&M, where she most recently served as interim dean of the graduate college. Before joining Prairie View, she spent 13 years as a professor in the University of Kentucky's Department of Psychology.
