Ricardo Rozzi

Ricardo Rozzi, director of UNT's Sub-Antarctic Biocultural Conservation Program and professor of philosophy and religion and biological sciences, recently received the Eugene P. Odom Award for Excellence in Ecology Education from the Ecological Society of America.

Rozzi was recognized by the society as a thought leader in ecological conservation in theory and in practice. He has written more than 25 books, 150 refereed journal articles and 50 book chapters, both in English and in Spanish. Beyond creating globally recognized education programs and novel teaching activities, Rozzi also engages with governmental policies and the media to build bridges for international approaches to ecological education.
