The UNT Debate Team finished 11th place at the 2019 Pi Kappa Delta National Tournament hosted by Hofstra University, which featured more than 750 competitors from 77 universities and colleges from 28 states. The team also received an excellence award for being in the top 30 percent of competitors.

UNT was represented by 13 team members who competed in four debate events and two individual events. Pi Kappa Delta, founded in 1911, is among the oldest forensics organizations in the United States.
