James Meernik, Regents Professor of political science and director of UNT's Castleberry Peace Institute, devised a perfect lesson for his peace studies students this spring -- figure out how to collect and send school supplies to Colombia, a country that is working to build peace after decades of war.

It was a challenge, but in April, Meernik himself visited Colombia to present the supplies his students had collected.
