As a dance major, Rachel Caldwell ('11) had to write weekly self-reflection essays and research papers that helped her develop her skills and confidence as a writer.

Now she gets to combine her love for dancing and writing as assistant editor for the national magazine Dance Teacher, based in New York City.

"Every time I interview a dance teacher, choreographer or performer, I learn a bit more about dance," she says. "I love talking to people who are so passionate about their craft. It's infectious!"

She credits her UNT professors with setting her on the path to her career.

"They taught me how to see and talk about dance in an intelligent way," she says.

"I don't think I'd be where I am today had I not attended UNT."
