Bill Nye, scientist, engineer, comedian, author and inventor, lives to make science entertaining and accessible. He shared his gift with UNT students this spring as part of the UNT Distinguished Lecture Series.

A popular speaker because of his knack for making his lectures relatable, Nye travels the country to help people understand and appreciate science, a message he brought to UNT students and other guests. His TV show Bill Nye the Science Guy also explores this fascination.

Nye, who holds a degree in mechanical engineering from Cornell University, worked as an engineer for Boeing before launching his comedy career. His latest project is hosting the Planet Green show Stuff Happens, which highlights environmentally responsible choices consumers can make as they go about their day.

As part of his lecture at UNT, Nye also participated in a Q&A with students. Visit the Distinguished Lecture Series online for details about upcoming lectures in the series.
