Virgie Holbrook

Virgie Holbrook (’77 M.A.), Pottsboro was named a Friend of Education in the private citizen category by the Texas Classroom Teachers Association. The award is given to an individual who has shown extraordinary commitment to public education in Texas. She has created a scholarship fund, founded an afterschool care program and established a program that provides meals for eligible students in the Pottsboro ISD. She is president of W.P. Cooper Inc., a real estate firm, and a former pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church in Denton.
