Trista Edwards (’17 Ph.D.), Hiram, Georgia, released her poetry book, Death Roll, which uses Ocala, a taxedermic alligator-doll hybrid, to explore the loss of a loved one and the arrival of a baby. Since graduating from UNT, she owned and operated the Marvel + Moon candle shop for six years while simultaneously building a career in independent publishing as a developmental editor and acquisitions specialist at the Austin-based hybrid publisher Atmosphere Press — all while actively writing and publishing her own work.
