Sally Perret (’06 M.A.), Champaign, Ill. was named the first recipient of the Kibbee Prize from the School of Literatures, Cultures and Linguistics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The award will be given annually to the winner of a Dissertation Completion Fellowship from the school. Sally is a Ph.D candidate in Spanish, Italian and Portuguese. She will use the cash award to help finish and defend her dissertation, “The Production of Cultural Citizenship in Democratic Spain: National Literary Awards and the Politics of Identity (1977-2010).”
