Richard Menchaca

Richard V. Menchaca (’65 M.Ed.), Irving received the Chili Bowl Scholarship Gala Honoree Award in San Antonio for outstanding leadership in the Hispanic community and contributions to education. Proceeds from the gala help provide scholarships for students at San Antonio Tech High School and Sidney Lanier High School, his alma mater. Last fall, he was honored for 45 years of service to El Centro College, where he is director of reading. He is a member of the UNT Athletic Hall of Fame for his accomplishments in track.
