Richard Crummel

Richard Crummel, Fort Worth retired from public education after 41 years, last serving as superintendent of the Burleson ISD. He was a high school band director for 15 years with the district before becoming an administrator. He attended North Texas beginning in 1967 where he performed with the jazz band program and the marching band program.  During his years as a band director, his performing groups won many regional and state honors.  In 1976, Southwest High School Band, under his direction, was selected to perform for President Gerald Ford. “North Texas was the place I wanted to be since attending my very first One O'clock Lab Band concert in 1963,” he says. “My foundation in music education came from the wealth of opportunities there."
