Paul Hammons, Hooks  received a patent on his invention, the Flush Meister, that saves 1 to 3 gallons of water every time a flapper-controlled toilet is flushed. His interest in water-saving devices began in 1980, when a state commission was formed to look for ways to meet the future water needs of Texans.
