Louis B. Houston, Siloam Springs, Ark. published a collection of short stories and essays, The Grape-Toned Studebaker (Dog Ear Publishing). Many feature colorful characters in his life, including his father’s 1936 Studebaker President, in the title story, and a young king of rock in “Elvis Ate My Hamburger.” Louis worked for Conoco for 18 years, pioneering the development of a computerized oilfield system, and later developed computerized management systems for counties in Arkansas. He writes a weekly column for the Siloam Springs Herald-Leader.
