Lauren Gay, Carrollton received the 2014 Innovations in STEM Teaching Award from the Texas Instruments Foundation, given to secondary math and science teachers who demonstrate high-quality instruction and build student achievement. She is a math teacher and an alumna of the UNT Teach North Texas program. She received $10,000, half of which is awarded to the teacher and the other half for professional development or instructional technology.
