Larry Stevens ('76 M.S., ’83 Ph.D.), Flagstaff, Ariz. :: has been a professor of psychology in the Department of Psychological Sciences at Northern Arizona University for 30 years. His study on the effects of chocolate on the brain and body was published on NeuroRegulation and sponsored by Hershey. The study, which suggests that cacao has a stimulating effect on the human brain, is the first known study of chocolate consumption done while using electroencephalography (EEG). He says he owes his career, in part, to the many excellent professors in the psychology department at UNT.
