Jonathan Whitworth

Jonathan Peter Whitworth ('93, M.B.A.), Vancouver, B.C. :: CEO of Seaspan ULC, was named CEO of the Year by Business in Vancouver magazine in 2016. In 2011, he and his team won an $8 billion bid to build noncombat ships for the Canadian government, restarting the shipbuilding industry. He doubled the number of employees at Seaspan and is providing opportunities for long-term careers in the trades, engineering, ship design and project management. He also was named runner-up for the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in the infrastructure category. He is married to Julie Pierce Whitworth (’94).
