Jonathan C. Johnson, DeSoto :: is the author of the new book A Fighting Chance, in which he talks about obstacles he’s overcome in life, including being born to a very young mother as the product of an assault, being diagnosed with chronic kidney failure and at 17 receiving a kidney transplant. He wasn’t predicted to make it past a high school education, but he went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from UNT in political science and an M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix. Jonathan is focusing full time on writing and plans to become a motivational speaker. “I feel that my journey can not only help people in everyday life, but show people that you can go as far in life as you want to,” he says. “My book is designed to let people know that you can overcome anything, and that it's not what people call you but what you respond to that makes the difference.” See a trailer for his book.
