Jody Edward Ginn ('14, Ph.D.), Austin, released his book, East Texas Troubles: The Allred Rangers’ Cleanup of San Augustine (University of Oklahoma Press), which tells of the inaugural effort by Texas Governor James V. Allred to transform the Texas Rangers into a professional law enforcement agency after organized crime took over San Augustine County in the 1930s. Ginn is a former law enforcement officer and teaches history at Austin Community College. A multimedia consultant, writer and producer, he also co-wrote the book Palmito Ranch: From Civil War Battlefield to National Historic Landmark.
