Jim Hansford

Jim Hansford (M.M.Ed., ’82 Ph.D.), Shawnee, Okla. :: Burton Patterson Professor of Music and director of bands, retired in July from Oklahoma Baptist University after 20 years of service. He has served as conductor of the Oklahoma Baptist All-State Symphonic Band since 1992, leading tours across the U.S., England and British Columbia. At OBU, he conducted the Symphonic Band and taught courses on advanced conducting, instrumental methods and procedures, marching band techniques, band literature and applied low brass. He also conducts the OBU-Shawnee Community Orchestra. He stays active as a guest conductor, clinician and adjudicator in public schools and churches across the Southwest.
