Jack Murphy

Jack Murphy (’74 M.P.A.), Wichita Falls :: retired in August as Wichita Falls’ parks and recreation director after serving in that position for 32 years. During his tenue, he oversaw extensive beautification of the city’s parks, highway medians and public building grounds with the planting of 20,000 trees, flower beds, ponds and ornamental structures. He created and led development of the 20-mile Circle Trail, the Trail Train and the Sports Complex. He previously worked in the cities of Farmers Branch, Richardson, Garland, DeSoto and Victoria.
