Gregory Jones

Gregory Jones (M.M.Ed.), Kirksville, Mo. :: completed his 26th year on the faculty at Truman State University, where he teaches trumpet and conducts the brass choir. He earned his doctorate at the Eastman School of Music. On his fourth recital tour of China last spring, he played solo works and chamber music and conducted brass ensembles as part of the May Music Festival. Joining him on the tour was Leonard Candelaria, UNT Professor Emeritus of music. The two trumpeters presented concerts and master classes at places including the famed Beijing Central Conservatory, Tianjin Conservatory and Lanzhou University. Jones also traveled to Greece as a guest artist and clinician at the Melos Brass Ionian Seminar on the island of Corfu with additional master classes in Athens, and in Berat and Tirana, Albania.
