Glenn M. Light (M.S., ’78 Ph.D.), San Antonio :: director of the sensor systems and nondestructive evaluation technology department in Southwest Research Institute’s mechanical engineering division, was selected by the American Society for Nondestructive Testing Research Council to receive its 2010 Research Award for Sustained Excellence. He has worked for SwRI and been a member of ASNT for more than 30 years, holds 15 U.S. patents and teaches graduate classes at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He specializes in developing sensors, systems and techniques for the nondestructive evaluation of materials and structures.
