Franklin Kimlicko, Tyler, who has taught at Tyler Junior College since 1972, was recognized with the Kay Arms Lifetime Achievement Award. Presented by Young Audiences of Northeast Texas organization, it honors educators who have dedicated their lives to fine arts education. At UNT, where he earned a bachelor’s in music composition, Kimlicko played guitar with the One O'Clock Lab Band, including during a performance at the White House. An award-winning composer, he has also performed with the Dallas Symphony, Fort Worth Symphony and Dallas Summer Musicals.
