
Dorothy Love (’76 M.Ed., ’84 Ph.D.), Canyon Lake, has published A Season in Saigon on her imprint Leaning Oaks Press. The novel, set in Saigon in 1968, follows a group of female journalists who covered the war in Vietnam. Dorothy has written 12 historical novels for young readers and contemporary novels for young adults, published at Holiday House and Simon and Schuster. One book, I Remember the Alamo, was used in many Texas school districts’ fourth-grade social studies curriculum. She also wrote seven historical novels for adult readers that were published by Thomas Nelson/HarperCollins. She pursued fiction after a 15-year career in K-12 education and taught briefly at UNT’s College of Education.
