Carl Miller

Carl Miller (Ph.D.), La Crosse, Wis. received the James J. Corbett Memorial Award, the highest honor given by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics, in June. A past president of the organization, he has served as director of athletics at the University of South Dakota, the University of North Dakota and the University of the Pacific. Since his retirement, he has helped plan the construction of “The Music Man Square,” a complex in Mason City, Iowa, modeled after the musical’s River City, and has raised money as director of major gifts for Winona State University.
