Bryan K. Rouse (M.M.), Schofield Barracks, Hawaii headed to Monterrey, Mexico, the day after he graduated for his first rehearsal with the Monterrey Symphony Orchestra. He was the symphony’s principal percussionist for 10 years and a professor of percussion at the local music institution. He also played timpani for wedding performance groups and freelanced around the area. Last spring, he returned to the U.S. and, after completing basic combat training and advanced training in music, became a member of the Army Band program. “I have had many blessed years as a percussionist and musician,” he says, “and thank UNT in general for the education and opportunities it offered me!”
