William W. Falk (’69, ’70 M.A.), of Stuart, Florida, was Professor Emeritus of sociology at the University of Maryland, where he focused on the Rural American South. He worked at the University of Maryland for 30 years, with two terms as chair of the Sociology Department and interim chair of the African American Studies Department. He received his Ph.D. from Texas A&M University in 1975, then taught at Louisiana State University from 1975 to 1985.
