He served as an officer in the U.S. Navy, then earned his degrees in chemistry and was a part-time instructor at North Texas. He worked as a chemist at Dupont and for 27 years at Dow Chemical Co., where he earned 28 patents for inventions in plastics, polymer research processes and polymer chemistry. He organized a Christian singing  group, directed local access TV programs and performed in musicals. After retiring, he became a writer and published eight novels.</main-content></item>
