Temple Pouncey ('66), Frisco. He was a U.S. Navy Reserve veteran who served on the USS Hunley. At North Texas, he edited The Campus Chat, was a member of the journalism fraternity Sigma Delta Chi and president of the Press Club. A print journalist in the Dallas area for 30 years, he wrote about sports and was a copy editor for the Dallas Morning News, Dallas Times Herald, Plano Star-Courier and the publication International Tennis Weekly. He covered the 1978 World Cup in Argentina, Wimbledon, the U.S. Open and Australian Open, heavyweight championship fights and the Super Bowl. Temple was a founding member of the Professional Soccer Writers Association.
