Lucy Evelyn Lemon Tidmore (’49), Vernon, earned a bachelor’s in library science at North Texas, where she was involved with the tennis and swim teams and the Camera Club. She worked as a librarian at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls before becoming a first grade teacher. She and her husband, Gordon Tidmore (’50), owned the Tidmore Chevrolet & Oldsmobile dealership in Vernon and later Tidmore Car Connections. A longtime member of her church, Lucy enjoyed singing in the choir and performing in the handbell choir. In recent years, she created activity quilts that help keep dementia and Alzheimer’s patients mentally engaged.
