Lee Fulton (’08 M.S.), 50, Denison, died Aug. 13. He worked in what is now UNT’s Sycamore Library in 2007 and in the Digital Libraries Division of the UNT Libraries from 2014 to 2017.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and economics from Austin College and his master’s in information science from UNT, along with a graduate academic certificate in advanced management in libraries and information agencies. He was taking graduate classes in GIS and data visualization at UT-Permian Basin and had enrolled in UNT’s College of Information for the fall to work on a graduate certificate in digital content management.

Lee had served as a U.S. naval officer deployed in support of Operations Enduring Freedom, Noble Eagle and Southern Watch. He also had worked as a U.S. National Park Service licensed driver in Glacier National Park and as a licensed guide in Yellowstone National Park, where he led cross-country ski wildlife viewing tours. He was dedicated to helping the buffalo survive as the board treasurer of the organization Roam Free Nation.
