Edward Askild Lonvick ('54), Charlottesville, Va. :: He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War before attending North Texas, where he met his wife, Ray Nell ('54). He worked most of his career as a regional sales/service manager for Thomas J. Lipton, Inc., a food services company now part of Unilever. With each job transfer, he became active in a different Lutheran church. At Ascension Lutheran Church in Memphis, Tenn., he managed the development of Ascension Towers, a 13-story retirement community for low-income seniors. Edward enjoyed playing golf and bridge, as well as staying connected with a broad network of neighbors and friends across the country from his Army, church, Lipton and school days.
