He was a graduate teaching assistant at UNT in art and library and information sciences while working on his master’s degrees. He worked as a librarian and adjunct professor in Florida. From 2008 to 2019, he was a metadata and digital image librarian at the Smithsonian Libraries, where he co-curated the exhibition Fantastic Worlds: Science and Fiction 1780-1910. He loved horror flicks and TV shows, was known for his easy-going demeanor and hugs, and was a gourmet cook.
