Charles Nobles (’54), 96, of Tulsa, an accounting major who received the Distinguished Alumni Award in 1985, died April 3, 2026. He was a retired oil and gas financial executive whose career included positions at Arthur Andersen and Bracken Energy Corp. He established The Charles and Ann Nobles Endowment Fund at UNT to support the accounting department and The Katie Henley Business Scholarship Endowment. He served as a member of the College of Business Accounting Advisory Board. He was a member of the Matthews and 1890 donor recognition societies. He also served on the Oklahoma Board of Juvenile Affairs and as a treasurer of his homeowners’ association. He served in the U.S. Air Force.
