He was working as a stockbroker when he was discovered by longtime Dallas broadcaster Ron Chapman, who invited Billy Bob to deliver market reports on radio station KVIL. He eventually became a member of the station’s morning show team. A co-owner of the Beta Business Development company, for decades he manned the prayer line at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church in Dallas.
