Charles L. Shepard Jr.

Charles L. Shepard Jr. (’56), Princeton. A four-year football letterman at North Texas from 1951 to 1955, he was drafted by the Baltimore Colts and played for the Pittsburgh Steelers before going on to success in the Canadian Football League. He was a fullback and punter with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers from 1957 to 1962 and was named MVP of the 1959 Grey Cup championship game. He was a member of the Winnipeg Football Club Hall of Fame and in 2005 was inducted into the UNT Athletic Hall of Fame.
