Elizabeth Hayes Turner, Distinguished Teaching Professor Emeritus of history, co-edited the book Texas Women: Their Histories, Their Lives (University of Georgia Press), which profiles women who have made profound changes
in the Lone Star state. The 22 chapters cover subjects, ranging from essays on Indian
women, businesswomen and ranchers, to biographies of Jovita Idar, Mae Jemison, Oveta
Culp Hobby and Barbara Jordan.
Contributors to the book include Jean Stuntz ('96 M.A., '00 Ph.D.), Jessica Brannon- Wranosky ('10 Ph.D.), Laura McLemore ('98 Ph.D.) and Bianca Mercado ('08 M.A.).
