The time capsules unearthed on University Day were full of interesting items. The 1962 capsule included the books Profiles in Courage by John F. Kennedy, 1984 by George Orwell and a Cambridge Bible. Larry McMurtry's ('58) Lonesome Dove was placed in the 1988 capsule, along with unusual items like vampire teeth and other
memorabilia from campus blood drives, a metal ashtray from the NTSU Union, and a photo
of the members of the drumline along with their phone numbers. What items would you
have put in a time capsule that was buried when you graduated? Or what items would
you put in a UNT time capsule today? As we celebrate our 125th anniversary this year,
we're interested in hearing what you'd like future generations to discover and remember
about UNT. Send an email to northtexan@unt.edu or letters to The North Texan; University of North Texas; Division of University Relations, Communications and
