09/24/2010 12:00:00 AM College of Health and Public Servicestory Jennifer Way, associate professor of art history, received a Terra Foundation for American Art Senior Fellow award at the Smithsonian American Art Museum to support research for her book project, Politics of the Handmade: The Significance of Southeast Asian Handicraft for America, ca. 1955-1961. One of 18 new fellows, she is researching the political and cultural significance of making and circulating handicrafts as part of U.S.-Vietnam relations from the time the French left Vietnam to the start of the war.
