Biology seniors Zane Gibbs and Son Le have earned placements in the national Howard Hughes Medical Institute Exceptional Research Opportunities Program this summer. The program aims to support the next generation of researchers, particularly those from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds. Only 80 students across the U.S. were chosen for this year's program.

Gibbs will spend the summer at the University of Colorado at Boulder, and Le will travel to Oregon Health and Science University.
