My favorite Homecoming memory ("Dear North Texan," winter 2012) was in 1991 watching the entire Mean Green marching band march down to the Union to vote one of their own into the Homecoming court.
It was so cool to watch and hear as they marched down to vote. They made the front page of the newspaper the next day. Great memory.
