        Hanchen Huang      
    
    Hanchen Huang has been named the new dean of UNT's College of Engineering. His appointment began Jan. 1.

In his role at UNT, Huang oversees academics, research and outreach for the college. Huang also serves as the Lupe Murchison Foundation Chair Professor at UNT. Prior to joining the university, he served as the Donald W. Smith professor and department chair of mechanical and industrial engineering at Northeastern University. He also served at the University of Connecticut, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
