Professor's Painting Included in Vienna Exhibit

 Cabbage and Steel,A painting by Pamela Burnley-Schol, adjunct professor in studio arts, is on display in the “GOLD” exhibition at the Belvedere Palace Museum in Vienna, Austria, until mid-June. The exhibit explores the historic role of gold in art from the 14th to the 21st centuries.

Burnley-Schol’s painting, Transfiguration: Cabbage and Steel, is painted in oil on 23-karat gold leaf. She was one of 140 artists, along with Gustave Klimt, Robert Rauschenberg and Andy Warhol, selected for the exhibit.

“Obviously, I’m deeply honored to be in such company,” Burnley-Schol says. “It feels very ‘Cinderella’ to me right now.”
