Advice for students today:
Opportunity is everywhere. We can’t learn from just one country. We have to be more international.
Favorite place to go in Denton as a student:
When I was a student there, Denton was a small town and quiet. I would walk downtown after class on Fridays to watch a movie.
Why you decided to invest in business, engineering and music:
I have worked in the high-tech world of science, I went to the business school at UNT, and I love music. It’s good for people. When I have a headache, I listen to music. I feel much better, and I can think better.
Benefits of studying in another country:
You learn a lot about culture and how people think.
Definition of success:
Happiness
How your education at UNT impacted your life and career:
The reason I am in the semiconductor industry is because I had some teachers and friends from high-tech companies such as TI.
What students need to know most about the global business environment today:
They need to know not only about U.S. business and political situations, but also about global situations. Things that happen in one place impact the others. The world is much more complicated than before.
Advice you gave your son when he decided to come to Denton:
I told him UNT has a very good TAMS program, and UNT — together with Denton — is a good place to live. My son decided to come to UNT by himself.
Favorite song or musician:
Actually, I like a lot of songs and singers, including the Beatles.
