Rodrigo Villanueva-Conroy

Rodrigo Villanueva-Conroy (’01, ’03 M.M.), DeKalb, Illinois, received the Fulbright Award with residency in Brazil for teaching and researching his project, “Brazilian Rhythms: Cracking the Afro-Brazilian Rhythmic Code.” He is a full professor at Northern Illinois University, where he teaches jazz drum set and jazz arranging and directs the NIU Jazz Ensemble.
