Melora Fern Davis Leiser (’82), Hillsborough, North Carolina, wrote her debut novel, Whistling Women and Crowing Hens. Fern penned the book about a woman who joins a roadshow in the 1920s after learning her grandmother was a musician in a quintet during that same time period. Melora was a certified public accountant before becoming a novelist.
