José Dodier, Jr., Zapata, was elected as vice-chairman to the Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board. He has been a member of the board since 2005 and was reelected to his second two-year term, representing the Gulf Coast and South Texas Plains regions. He is a partner in the Don José Land & Cattle Company in Zapata County, which the Dodier family has been operating for over 80 years. He serves as chairman of the Zapata SWCD and is a member of the board of directors of the South Texas Workforce Solutions.
